Titus O'Neil: Bio

Titus O'Neil

A former football player for the University of Florida and the Jacksonville Jaguars, Titus O’Neil knows a thing or two about hard-hitting physical dominance.

One of the most imposing NXT Rookies on season two, “The Real Deal’s” hard work paid off in early 2012, when then-General Manager John Laurinaitis formally placed O’Neil and his main man Darren Young on the SmackDown roster.

Taking on the name of The Prime Time Players, Young and O’Neil set out to prove to the WWE Universe that they were worth the “millions of dollars” they said they were.

For nearly two years, Young and O'Neil tried to make their marks in WWE's cutthroat tag team division, picking up wins over teams like Rey Mysterio & Sin Cara, The Real Americans and 3MB. Despite several major victories, including a Tag Team Turmoil win that earned O'Neil and Young the opportunity to challenge The Shield for the WWE Tag Team Championships at Night of Champions 2013, they never found themselves holding the championships they desired.

Apparently, that has been weighing heavily on Titus O'Neil's mind. After Young was pinned in a loss to Curtis Axel & Ryback on the Jan. 31, 2014, edition of SmackDown, "The Real Deal" confronted his partner in the ring. A frustrated O'Neil said he came to WWE to be "the man" and that for the first time in his life, he felt like a loser. Despite Young's insistence that they were like brothers, O'Neil ended their partnership with a boot to the gut that started a vicious assault on Young that spilled out of the ring to the arena floor. Titus left little doubt that The Prime Time Players were no more, as he hurled Young into the ringside barricades.

While he proved he is a formidable singles competitor by defeating Young, Titus has reluctantly become the partner of Heath Slater in recent weeks. Though they don't quite get along, the duo known as "Slater Gator" have found success in the ring since joining forces, including a big victory over Stardust & Goldust on WWE Main Event.

The WWE locker room should watch out, because Titus O'Neil is out to prove that he truly is "The Real Deal."
